ABC Powder Extinguishers
ABC Powder works by firstly applying a coating to the fire which acts like a blanket suffocating the fire.
Wet Chemical Extinguishers
Wet Chemical uses a film forming base with additional secret chemicals and micro drop mist nozzle technology.
Dry Powder Extinguisher
Automatic Dry Powder Extinguishers work by firstly applying a coating to the fire which acts like a blanket suffocating the fire.
Fire Extinguishers
Fire extinguishers are crucial for ensuring safety and mitigating fire risks. We at LIFECO are proud to be a distinguished leader in the fire safety industry that excels in providing these essential tools. Our experienced teams operate extensively in the UK and the GCC regions, including the UAE and Saudi Arabia, delivering a wide range of high-quality fire extinguishers suitable for various environments and fire types.
Fire Extinguishers
At LIFECO, it’s our aim to cater to the needs of as many clients as possible, which is why we have a diverse selection of high-quality fire extinguishers available. Our range of high-performance fire extinguishers includes the following:
Portable Fire Extinguishers
Portable fire extinguishers are essential tools for immediate response to fires, and different types cater to various fire classes. Here’s a summary of the types offered by LIFECO:
ABC Powder Extinguishers: Suitable for multiple fire types (A, B, C). They smother fires with a powder coating. Available in various sizes (1 kg to 12 kg), both stored pressure and gas cartridge operated.
AFFF Foam Extinguishers: Ideal for A & B class fires, these create a film-forming foam to smother and cool the fire. Safe for incidental electrical fires up to 35kv. Available in 3, 6, and 9 litres, in cartridge and high-performance types.
Carbon Dioxide Extinguishers: Effective for Class B and electrical fires. CO2 displaces oxygen to suffocate the fire and leaves no residue. Available in 2 & 5 kg sizes.
Water Extinguishers: Traditional and simple, they cool the fire. Suitable for Class A fires. Available in 6 & 9 litres, including anti-freeze options.
Wet Chemical Extinguishers: Specifically designed for kitchen fires (Class F), using a film-forming agent that smothers and cools the fire without creating a foam mess. Available with a special applicator lance for safety.
Automatic Fire Extinguishers
Automatic fire extinguishers, such as foam and dry powder types, are designed to activate independently in the presence of a fire, providing immediate suppression.
Foam Extinguisher (AFFF – Aqueous Film Forming Foam): This type releases a film-forming foam upon activation, creating a blanket over the fire. This dual-action approach not only suffocates the fire by cutting off the oxygen supply but also cools it down. It’s particularly effective against fires involving solids and liquids (Classes A and B).
Dry Powder Extinguisher: Upon activation, this extinguisher discharges a dry powder that coats the fire, acting as a blanket to suffocate it. Additionally, it releases nitrogen, an inert gas, which further helps in smothering the fire. This type of extinguisher interrupts the chemical reaction of the fire, contributing to its cooling. It is versatile and can be used on a variety of fire types, including flammable liquids and gases, electrical fires, and even metal fires in some cases.
Trolley Type Fire Extinguishers
Trolley type fire extinguishers, designed for mobility and greater capacity, are essential for addressing larger-scale fire incidents. Here’s a summary of the different types:
CO2 Extinguisher: This type uses carbon dioxide, an inert gas, to extinguish fires by displacing oxygen, effectively suffocating the fire. It’s particularly suitable for Class B (flammable liquids and gases) and electrical fires. However, it’s not effective on Class A (ordinary combustibles like wood and paper) fires and should be used alongside foam or water extinguishers for comprehensive fire protection.
Powder Extinguisher: The dry powder mobile trolley extinguishers are designed for high performance and rapid-fire knockdown capability. These are versatile and can be used on various types of fires, including flammable liquids, gases, electrical equipment, and potentially metals. Their pressurised design allows for quick and effective fire suppression over a larger area.
Foam Extinguisher: Foam extinguishers are effective on Class B fires and can also be used on electrical fires. The foam forms a blanket over the fire, cutting off the oxygen supply and suppressing the flames. This type is particularly useful in scenarios involving flammable liquids.
